Research Direction

The control system of electric vehicle(EV) system includes power driving system, energy management system, chassis electronic control system, lighting system, indicating instrument display system, auxiliary system, vehicle control system, air conditioning system and security system etc.. The control system is the core of the control in EV, which undertakes vehicle data exchange, vehicle safety management, Driver’s intention, power distribution management and energy distribution management. It is impact to economy, safety, driving comfort and dynamic coordinated control of vehicle.

Reinforcement Learning-based Autonomous Surface Vehicle Control System

A novel reinforcement learning-based USV system that literately learns to handle the uncertain disturbances from the real ocean environment was proposed by combing the Gaussian processes and the model predictive control. The proposed system was evaluated by real experiments in Japan under a cooperation with Furuno Electric Co., Ltd. It successfully achieved target reaching and position holding tasks after 40 minutes training in the real ocean environment with level 4 wind and 1m wave. The learned agent could accurately predict the effect of disturbances with uncertainties.
